Chorus/Centaur BB and Crank swapping..jeff27

I know that Daytona and Centaur Groups are basically the same,
and that you can't use Chorus BB with Daytona cranks.
Is that still the case for Centaur? I.E. Centaur cranks with
Chorus BB. I'm assuming so, but was wondering if Campy had changed that at all. Thanks in advance.

You cannont use the Chorus/Centaur Cranks/BB between groups. The Chorus has a 102mm BB while I think the Centaur is 111mm.
thanks, that's what i thought...nmjeff27

I saw that in a catolog the other day. Can't remember if it was in CC or Excel. That might work, but if I recall correctly it was $85. It was considerably lighter though pricey. The reason it caught my eye is because I have Daytona and the BB is a boat anchor.

Your Centaur style bb is symetrical, and the Record 111 is not. It will not give the proper chain line with a centaur(Daytona) double or triple.

and is designed for indoor use and limited outdoor use on the track. I think you'll be rebuilding it very frequently. If you're looking for a high end BB to fit Centaur and lowere level Campy cranksets...the only option that I know if is Phil Wood. They're available in 111mm symmetrical spindle with a Campy taper.
