|Upgrade wheels or not?||triguy5|

|I bought a tri bike used that has Sun Mistral wheels, which are probably 3-5 years old. I'm looking at upgrading my investment and don't know which way to go - carbon rims that cost a fortune, a more traditional alloy rim hand built (cheaper), or maybe the rims I have are good enough (I can't find any info on them). I've come to the realization that I'm not exactly training for the olympics, but find myself in the top 15% of my age group. I'm leaning towards the traditional rim that should cost me about $350.00 USD.
One more thing: I know very little about my bike: It's the same age as the wheels; made by "high velocity", a small bike shop that made custom bikes in Toronto, CDN. Has Easton 7005 tubing; Shimano ultegra w/ 600 hubs... . Can anyone shed light on this bike?
|IMO, go with "traditional wheels" for best value (nm)||Kerry|
