|I´m thinking about upgrading form 9 to 10-speed.
Camp. say that I have to replace the front-derailleur and front chainrings, but is that really true?
I´ve got an offer on the levers+rear derailleur+chain+cassette, and I hop that is enough

|The front derailleur for 10 spd is identical to 9 spd, with the addition of a couple of little plastic plugs that fit into the holes in the derailleur and make it a little narrower. I'm sure those plugs are available somewhere, especially from anyone who bought a "10 spd" frt derailleur and removed the plugs to use it for 9 spd.
The front chainrings are probably OK as is. In any event only the outer chainring is different for 10 spd, as the inner chainring is identical. I haven't tried it but I've seen plenty of reports that the 9 spd outer chainring can be used.

|When I converted from 8 to 9, the front derailler shifted poorly until I bent the front tabs in to make the front of the cage narrower. Now it works better than ever. You might have the same experience going from 9 to 10.|| |
