Creaking when leaning(3 posts)

Creaking when leaningStevieP

I have a creaking that only appears when I am leaning the bike to the right when out of the saddle. It also appears to only happen on the downstroke of the left pedal.

I have just changed the wheels to Mavic Cosmos. The noise didnt happen before the new wheels and did not happen when the wheels were brand new - it has come on after about 3 rides.

What is it?!
Here's how to diagnoseKerry

Put the old wheels back on, and if the noise is gone it is the wheels. If the noise is still there, then evidence points to crank/chainring/chainring bolts/BB/pedal/cleat/shoe.

most probably the bottom bracket; control if your frame has a hole in it at the bottom bracket (situated at the screw that holds your cableholder) to let water leak out of frame. If not you should make one and in that case I think your bottom bracket bearings are corroded or broken. Normally you can buy the bearings apart (brand and dimensions are stamped on them).
