How do speedplay Frogs compare with Speedplay road?wolfereeno

I have speedplay x3's and love the feel when riding. But I can't stand walking on them anymore. I've got the little coffee caps but still almost slid down a full flight of marble stairs the other day.

How do the Frogs compare in terms of feel? I've also been considering the new shimano road pedal...

Thanks

cycling shoes as you may have found out are not made for walking.they will all feel slippery.
Frogs are used with MTB shoes....davet

....most of which are far better for walking than road shoes.

I use both X2 and Frog pedals with the appropriate shoes. I install the pedals/wear the shoes depending on what kind of ride is coming up. A social ride where there are stops for coffee, food etc, that involves walking more than a little bit, the Frogs come on. If it's just a pure ride, the the x2's are used

So I take it you prefer the feel of the x2's for riding. The frogs are more for convenience. IYO, are they pretty close in terms of feel or riding satisfaction?

In terms of what the Frogs and X2s feel like; other than the shoes, to me there is no difference in the feel of the pedals while using them. Clip in & out are slightly different, but not much.

I find the Frog / MTB shoe combination a little more comfortable than X2 / Diadoras, and easier to walk in, but the combination weighs at least a pound more. On long rides it really slows me down.
you can put the new frogs on SPD road shoessodade

I don't like using MTN shoes on the road bike because they are a bit clunkier than road shoes. I am about to buy some frogs and put them on my Sidi Genius 3s. The frog cleat looks fairly tough - does anyone have any real world experience with this combo?

....but you WILL NOT be able to walk without damaging the cleat and/or falling on your butt. SIDI sells a 'thing' that's almost like a lug that surrounds the cleat on the left and right, that allows you to walk using the Frog cleats on the road shoes.
cool - can you help me with a link?sodade

I looked on the Sidi site and didn't see what you were talking about.
