Shimano to CampyPBLed

I am looking at getting a new bike with a Chorus 10set up, but would like to know if there is anyway I can still keep my old Mavic Cosmic Elite wheels which has an 8 speed shimano cassette on it. What are my options, is it practical to replace the rear hub, or do I have to scrap the wheels. Any suggestions would be great.

I just went thru the same issue converting my Vortex from Dura Ace to Campy. I really like my Velomax Curcuit Comp's and they do not come in a Campy freehub. WWW.excelsports has several options on cassettes that will work on a Shimano hub but is set up Campy 10 speed. I ordered the Wheels Manufacturing, Inc. cassette. Depending what ratio and how light you want to go, it will cost anywhere from $89 to $159 for the cassette. Ebay usually has on that is being sold out there by for about $59 if you get it at the starting auction price. It's made by American Classic and they give you a choice of ratio's, if you win the auction. The only problem is that it's the heaviest of all the ones available that are Campy 10 speed designed to fit on the Shimano freehub. Good luck!
