okay, I would never though i would have an itch for racing road, being that I am a cross racer.
As spring forms, I think I may like to enter a few early in the spring and fall, to train and keep a competative edge.
I have looked around for frames, and from my findings the cheapest frame and fork I can find is the univega, columbus thon. It gets good reviews and I lean towards steel over a cheap alum frame.
My idea although odd, is to enter some road races on a single speed. Am I crazy? I did five laps in central park on friday (on my ss cross), the century ride is seven. On the final lap I was toying with a fellow rider. I feel that I am a confident climber, I would loose time on the descends. Is there the possibility that I could place decent in the 3rd or c cats? The primary goal is to train, and to further a singlespeed fetish.
