To remove the 9spd shimano cranks... never remember if I should turn the allen wrench in a clockwise or counterclockwise way. Facing which side of the bike ? Same question for the bottom bracket, which side should I turn, clockwise or counterclockwise ? Thanks !

The allen always turns ccw to remove, facing the bolt.

The left side of the bb always turns ccw to remove.

Right side depends on English or Italian threads. Italian removes ccw, English cw (left hand thread). It can be hard to tell what you have with it installed. I try both directions, if I don't know or can't remember, and usually one way gets easier.

That's for the bottom bracket (and the pedals too I think). Just rotate them toward the back to loosen. As was already mentioned, crank bolts are just standard righty-tighty bolts. No difference between the two sides.
Did the maintenance yesterday.... thx guys.PeterRider
