Campy 9 speed crank to 10 speed?(6 posts)

Campy 9 speed crank to 10 speed?acp

I assume that the 10 speed chain is narrower than the 9 speed. How about the chainrings, are they also narrower? Do they both need to be replaced or only one or the other?

Thanks

I was told by Excel Sports that the cranks are the same and that only the large chainring needs to be changed to 10 speed due to the spacing. You can send them an e-mail to double check.

my understanding is the chain can fall and jam in the gap between rings.
Of course, THAT would never happen with Campy gear...

I've found that when confronted with these kind of interchangeability questions, a call to Branford Bike or a visit to www.branfordbike.com is always of great value!
