Campy upgrade question; Centaur to Record(4 posts)

Campy upgrade question; Centaur to RecordLoughlin
Mar 17, 2003 2:59 PM
I currently have a Centaur rear derailleur, 10 speed. I have considered "upgrading" to Record. The weight difference to me is negligible. Does anyone have a perspective on whether this upgrade is worthwhile, mostly in terms of any machanical benefits of Record (e.g. better/quicker shifts, smoother running, more adustable)?

Same question for ergo shifters, Centaur to Record. (Better shifts? Smoother?)

Thanks!

I might be interested in purchasing your Centaur components if you decide to make the upgrade.

drop me an e-mail if you decide to sell the Centaur components

I think you would slightly better performance with the record. With that said, you will find the same performance going with Chorus shifters and rear derailler. It's built the same as Record without the carbon fiber pieces. Go Chorus and save some money.
I bet you can't tell the differenceLeroy

between a record der and a centaur der. But, I would get the record der just on the cool looks and light weight if it's pulling on you that hard!
