I have a set of wheels with mavic rims that have some dents on the sides. Any way to straighten them out?

If you are talking about a wavering side wall, then a large adjustable wrench may be used to reduce the wavers. However, the chances of getting it "good as new" are slim. If the top edge of the sidewall is dinged, you're out of luck, and run the risk of the tire not holding because the groove for the bead is distorted.

The dent is on the side braking surface. Not a ding or near the edge. Just a shallow depression of about 1 inch wide on the side. I'll just try bending it back out then.
