refinishing steel frame helpgamara

I have a columbus steel frame that I'm getting repainted and I'm considering having the rear triangle chromed. Would this be a good decision in terms of practicality or for aethestic reasons only? Or would it be better to only get the dropouts chromed only?
how much, and where are you doing it?tnbiker

I am just curious to know how much a repaint costs.

The problems with chromeKerry

Chrome can be heavy, if the frame is not properly prepared it can start flaking off, it has to be polished in some tough spots (dropouts), and most seriously it involves dipping the frame in an acid bath. If the acid gets in the frame and is not removed, you can have serious corrosion problems. In the 60s and early 70s chrome frames were considered "to die for" but all of the problems soon put people off the idea. Chrome jobs must be done right.
