Lightweight vs. Bora(3 posts)

Lightweight vs. Boracubis
Mar 14, 2003 10:52 PM
I´m looking for a superlight, aerodynamic wheelset. Either Campy Bora or Lightweight (the ones Armstrong rode in last TdF) will be the choice.
Lightweights are lighter and stiffer than Boras but because of their laminated carbon spokes you cannot repair them yourself.
What would be your choice/advice ?

Bora's are very good wheels indeed, but the Lightweight's are in a totally different league altogether, henc ethe reason Armstrong pays for his own Lightweight's himself, not the team sponsor, along with a few other well known pro's i.e. Cippo, Jalabert and so on.

For more info go to: www.lightweightwheels.com

They say themselves that LIGHTWEIGHT wheels can never go out of true and the manufacturers are justifiably proud of the fact that not one wheel has ever failed under normal conditions including cyclocross.

Not many manaufacturers can claim to that now can they!!

I know one lad who rides his lightweights day in day out 'cause he hasn't a spare set of training wheels, and has never had any problems.

I know which one's I'd go for myself...........Lightweight's every time.

... why not get both???

Just kidding... they're both pricey... and I can't give any real recommendations... but I've got a bad jones goin' on for the new Bora...

Be the bike.
