Will these two work together? I, too, speculate that they should, but I'm looking for concrete answers. Thanks for your replies.

Yes they are interchangable. It is my understanding that the standard for the oversize bar is actually 31.75mm, but Italian companies round that number down to 31.7 whereas American companies often round that number up to 31.8mm. Either way, yes it will work, but be sure when you are tightening the stem to tighten all 4 bolts evenly. Don't tighten one of the 4 all the way down, then the next, then the third, then the fourth.. but do it evenly or you may pinch the carbon, which is something you do not want to do.

I currently use a Deda Newton 31.7 Stem with the Easton OS carbon bar on my TCR composite with no problems. I just make sure I use a torque wrench when I tighten everything down.
