How do you measure front derailluer size? Is there a "standard" size?

Thanks

If your frame does not have a braze on tab, then it's diameter of the seattube where the derailer clamps. 11/8",11/4",13/8", or the metric equivalents are the standards.

Front derailleurs that are designed for triples usually have a deeper inner plate and are longer so that the chain won't rub in little/little combinations. Front derailleurs that are designed for mountain bike micro drive chainrings have a smaller diameter cage arc than road derailleurs. Mountain bike derailleurs also have cage swing and cable pull options that usually have to be duplicated when you are replacing the front derailleur.
