Looking for opinions and recommendations on a bottom bracket with a 107 mm length square-taper (not ISIS or Octalink) spindle and 68 mm BB shell width that allows for adjusting the chainline. Here are the ones with those specs I've seen available (some from online dealers only, as the model may be discontinued):

American Classic
Raceface Taper Lock
WTB Momentum Grease Guard
Phil Wood

Any opinions or recommendations on these or other BBs that match the specs? By the way, I'm partial to steel (not titanium) spindles. Thanks!

I have used the American Classic and it was nice. Easy to adjust and stayed adjusted too. What more can you ask from a bottom bracket. The bearings are nice, but nothing special. They are sealed and they work.
I have worked on a Phil and the Raceface in the shop I work at. I haven't riden either, but of all three (I know nothing of the WTB) I liked the Raceface the best. I have used an ISIS version of their bottom bracket in my mountain bike and it's as perfect as a bottom bracket gets. I would get the Raceface if it was my choice.

Thanks, Russ! That's a thumbs-up for the Raceface (nm)Dale Brigham
