Chuck,
I had a similar problem (although I'm not sure what you mean by 'old' Time adapters??). I got a set of Northwave Evolutions at a really good price... $100. However, they didn't come with an adapter plate. I didn't plan to wear these shoes until this Spring, so I spent 3-5 months looking around for adapter plates. Here is what I found out. Time doesn't seem to be nearly as popular as LOOK or SPD-R. Most places didn't stock Time adapter plates, or if they did, the more popular sizes were often sold out. I also heard that the Time pedal is going to be phased out... will still be able to get parts, but no new pedals. That dictated what my solution was right away... bought 3 pair of PP396s on close-out ($80 shipped). I called Excel... they were willing to sell me a Time adapter plate for $70-$80. A local shop (http://www.gpbicycles.com/) sells them for around $50, but my size (41.5) Time adapter plate would have to be back ordered.

Good Luck!!

Bergland-

Thanks for the reply, are you telling me that Excel was gouging you for the simple Time adapter plate for the NW evo's at $80.00?- my size is Northwave 46 and $50 at local shop too seems realy expensive! What a drag. Thanks for the info, I guess I just have to get on the horn - If I find any 41.5 Ill post here for you.

The price Excel ($70-$80) gave me was on par with most places I checked... both local and mail order. If you can get A-plates (Carbon??) for $50, I doubt you'll find anything cheaper. Switching to LOOK pedals solved my problem... plenty of LOOK A-plates in-stock to choose from!!

Good Luck!!
