I'm in the market for a good light seatpost. I have a USE Alien right now, but is not compatable with my new fizik aliante. I have done some research. Here are some options.

the new Thompson Masterpiece 155g.
Deda Blackstick with Magnesium head 145g.
Easton EC-90 135g.(although I dont think I want a carbon head)

Yes, I understand the benifits of such minute weight differences is minimal or non-existant...but I have learned to embrace my anal-retentive nature. Please humor me.

With respect to the Thomson, I think it is the best bet if you can get your saddle back enough while using it. I think the Masterpiece is only made in the straight version, not the setback version (with bend). I am not 100% sure if it is compatible with the Aliante's rails.

But really, a regular Thomson Elite is only 190 grams.
