What's the difference between the Open Pro and the Open Pro CD rims? What does the CD stand for?

Hi,

I'm not so looky and am unable to find thos information on Mavic site. Can you provide the exect link to page or descibe the difference here?

the difference is the ceramic coating they put on the braking surface. that's what "cd" stands for.

Not exactly. There is an Open Pro CD AND an Open Pro CD/Ceramic. The CD is Mavic's hard anodizing process which many believe to be marketing hooey. The Ceramic coating helps with wet braking and making you replace your pads more often. The "plain" CD has dark sidewalls that look like crap as they get worn.

yes heavier (but I'm not counting). use as a training, foul weather wheel. rode them in a century and was doing 50 plus in a light rainstorm and never worried about braking. (Traction yes, stopping no) a great wheel, works well for cyclocross as well. does wear out the pads faster (cause they grip more) but my first choice in a rainstorm.
