Mavic Kysirum SSC Sl's or Shimano Dura-Ace rims?lindykid

I need some feedback back on both of these rims. I have a general idea of both of them as I have tested riden both. So far I am leaning towards the Mavics. I looking for other users pluses and minuses on them. Any help/feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Bike specs to help if needed.

Sycip Pave /Renolds 853 Steel tubing
Ouzo Pro carbon fork and seat stay

I like the Ksyrium SL's. They are light but more importantly, they are strong as heck. I've never riden a wheel that was so rigid and could rocket up a climb like they do.

Cool, thanks for the input on the Mavics. I have only tested them on flat land so that is good to know.

I have to pair of Ksyriums and they are as solid a wheel you will find in my opinion. Those Dura Ace things look a little scary as far as durability, and I have never seen rave reviews of them. Check out the Amclassic 420's also, I'm looking at selling one pair of Ksyriums and picking a pair of those up because they are lighter and more aero, and it gives me some options depending on terrain. good luck.

am a bigger, power rider and my SSC SL's take my abuse. light (not feathery) and strong. Also look into the Mavic Classic SCC's if you want a good, light, strong, more traditional wheel.

I'm 225 and my Ksyrium SL's are rock solid even when I'm standing out of the saddle. If you are looking for a good deal on brand new 2003 Ksyrium SCC SL's go to bicycledoctor.net. He sold them to me for $579 + $25 shipping.

Thanks for the replys. It seems that the overall choice is to go with mavic. Which is good for me because that was my first choice.

I will look into the other sets you guys/gals mentioned.

BTW, I am 160 LBS
