|I got the new specialized allez comp which has an integrated headset. I heard that with integrated headsets the brace(s?) in the head tube is prone to cracking if you ride over too many harsh pot holes. How true is this?|

|There are two types of integrated headsets. Both have proven to be road worthy. Ride the bike and don't worry about it. Just keep the headset adjusted. If you ride with the adjustment loose for very long, damage can result to the precision machined surfaces inside the head tube. If you've got the internal type with cups to protect the head tube this type of damage is less likely. The advantage of a conventional headset is that it can be ridden loose and all that's destroyed is the headset.
See the article at www.chrisking.com for a lengthy analysis of headsets, but don't believe all the negative BS about the integrated and internal designs.
