OS handlebar mounts for computer(4 posts)

OS handlebar mounts for computerinnergel
Jan 23, 2003 8:23 AM
I just replace my bars and stem with 3T Forgie XL's, which are OS, and the mounting bracket for my computer is too small. I emailed Specialized and they do not make an OS mounting bracket for the particular computer I have ('01 Elite). So now the computer is mounted essentially in the middle of the bar tops, taking away a hand position. My LBS has no idea what to do, short of buying a new computer. I have tried zip ties, but I can't get them tight enough. Does anyone have any ideas?

Cronometro Nob computer mount...DINOSAUR

I had the same problem with my Deda 31.7 bars. The Cronometro Nob attaches to your stem. It took a while to get used to looking at it in that position but now I like it as it's tucked in a safe position out of harms way. You can buy one at Branford Bike or Colorado Cyclist for around $10.00.

I know 2 people who use zip ties. Use a strip of rubber under the bracket and crank down hard on the zip tie.

The rubber strip under the bracket did the trick. I snipped off the little end pieces that the bolt and nut attached through, and drilled a small holes for the zip tie on either end. I was able to crank down hard using a pair of pliers. With a black mount and black zip ties, you can't tell the difference.

Thanks for the help.
