seatpost with lots of setback?indianabob

Hi all,

I want to get a post with more setback than my thompson post will give me (the thompson setback post doesn't have enough). I don't need anything radical, just another 2-3 cm more than my post gives me now. I'm looking at the Easton EC70 carbon (anyone know who has it on sale?), and want to see if anyone else has recommendations.

Thx

The Easton seatposts have a lot of setback. Everybody carries the carbon one, because carbon is trendy. The EA70 is the same post in aluminum.
Be careful that you don't push yourself too far in back of the bottom bracket. You may need to go with a longer stem.
If you go back too far, you'll have the equivelent of a 71 or 72 seat tube angle.

grumpy , you might want to check out the thomson elite set back post, and if that's not enough check out that Titec mtb post, and cut it to length, it has 1.5 inches of setback.

and if you are interested ?? email devalls3@aol.com for a price quote for either

Finding out which post has X amount of SPO is a hit and miss kind of thing. Nobody seems to publish how much offset is on Y post, etc... It also changes depending on the clamp design.

Best stuff I've heard of is the Salsa and the CLB post at Wallingford - http://www.wallbike.com/seatposts/clb.html

The EC70 is a good post, if a bit expensive. I just went through the same process you did with my post. I thought I needed more setback, but it turned out my seat was too low. You might check that before you buy a new one. If you like the EC70, there are always several for sale on ebay. You can also do a search on google and it will pull up a bunch of shops who sell them. Someone is bound to have them on sale.
