Bar end shifters on aero bars..gray8110

Is there a "correct" way to setup bar end shifters on aero bars??

It seems like you'd want the front shifter on the left and the rear shifter on the right of course, but to do so, the shifters would be inverted.. a la this photo:

Is that the correct way, or do people put rear on the left and front on the right??

Am I just being dumb here.. they seem so simple, but apparently I'm having a brain fart.

The 'correct way' is to have the front shifter on the left and the rear shifter on the right. It takes a little while to get used to it, but that's the most common, or 'correct' way to do it.

Can have them facing forward too. Depends on what's more comfortable to you. I've had them forward -- pretty easy to shift with either a thumb or the index fonger (depending on which way you're shifting). Front on left is correct, however.

front shifter on left is correct. They can go either way up, don't have to invert - it just changes where the cable comes out from the shifter, either under the aerobars or on top. If the latter, then route the cable under a few wraps of bar tape from top to bottom so it emerges from the tape at the bottom of the bars and thus to the downtube.. Personally I kept my shifters so they work the same way as downtube shifters. This minimizes the confusion when switching between the race bike and the beater..
