seatpost with a shim...funknuggets

Anyone ever used a seatpost with a shim if the diameter is too small for your frame, or vice versa? Im just curious if shims cause seatposts to slip more often or creak more... etc. Just your experience.

Thanks.
Chris
It's a complete non-issue. Shim without fear.retro

I've used them for years with suspension posts on my mountain bike, and on two or three road bikes. You'll never notice it.

I've had a beer can shim on my cross bike for about 4 years & it works great.

I am now using a 26.8 shim with a 25.0 USE carbon post. Far, far, better than the 26.8 Easton carbon post I had. No more dents in the surface and I feel a lot more confident that the post wont break.
