Clamp diameter for Schwinn Fastback F Der.?dirtpoor

The 2001 fastback has an oversized down tube and I'm not sure what clamp diameter I need for the front deraileur. Thanks for all your help. DP

It's easy to measure the diameter of a tube if you have an adjustable wrench, often referred to as a Crescent wrench. Adjust the wrench to fit snugly on the tube and measure the jaw opening with a ruler. It will be 1-1/4 or 1-3/8".

Another method is to wrap a piece of masking tape around the tube. The length of the tape to go around the tube will be almost 4" for a 1-1/4" tube and 4-5/16" long if it's a 1-3/8".

what was the final measurement for the front derailleur, I don't have any equipment to measure so please just give me the measurements, and what size diameter seat post do I need 27, 27.2 ?
