Campy-10 cassette question(5 posts)

Campy-10 cassette questionshirt

When screwing the small gear/lockring back onto the cassette, how tight should it be? My torque wrench won't fit around the cassette tool, so a little conventional wisdom wouldn't hurt. Finger tight? Snug? Reefed?

thanks,

The Campag cassette should be tightened to 50Nm. If you have the Campag cassette lock ring tool, you can buy a conventional 24mm socket for your torque wrench that will fit over the tool. Hope this helps.
Lock ring probably says 50 nm right on itKerry

The tool takes a 24mm socket, so why can't you get a 24mm socket for your torque wrench? Campy BB is 70nm, and you use the same tool, so it seems pretty reasonable to have that socket.
thanks Kerry, that was extremely usefulshirt

I needed a little "conventional wisdom" to help me reassemble it the other day. Telling me to buy a socket and adapter wasn't what I was looking for.
