Dec 4, 2002 6:32 PM | | It's just the spline pattern that Shimano uses on their BB's & Cranksets.. they have 8 splines as opposed to being a tapered rectangle. There may or may not be a stiffness advantage.. mainly its marketing. If you want to use a shimano crank, you have to use their BB.. If you want to use their BB, you haveto use their crank or a crankset bu a manufacturer that they have liscenced the octalink spline to. |
