and I wanted to know if anyone had any experiences. I'd like to find something that I don't have to dedicate to the bike. I'd like to go on and off with them if possible although if my 401(k) improves a bit I'll just buy a second bike and leave them on my beater bike. Anyone have a fender preference for a CAAD 3 bike?

|These things work, but not well. I used clip-ons similar to the Zefals for a couple of years on my singlespeed road bike, but they were noisy and unstable. A few months ago I switched to Planet Bike road fenders. Much more stable, much stronger, and--since they extend farther, much more effective at protecting both me and the drivetrain. I like them so much that I've been tempted to put them on my main road bike.

|Saw those yesterday for the first time. I like the CF version, too, but these are very, very fine. Probably not for weight weenies, and a tad (.5 cm) wider than the Planet Bike model, but very, very cool.|

|You can get these at giveaway now, for good reason.
The front requires a brake mount bolt throught the fork with hole up the middle steel fork style to attach unless you zip tie it on.
Even then, the clearance is risible - I can't get them on anything expect my CX, and even then, the rear is too short to do any good - still get a wet back.
By and large - not worth the bother.
