AeroHandlebars- benefits?(5 posts)

AeroHandlebars- benefits?SPDRECRD

I recently came across an interesting pair of aerohandlebars. Not Aerobars but aerohandlebars.... They weigh a bit more then the typical set of handlebars but they are supposed to be more aerodynamic. How much benefit could there be in a pair of aerohandle bars and is it worth it for the extra weight? They weigh about 320 grams....

They probably offer the most benefit if you're sustaining high speeds for long periods of time.

And as for the weight, you have to remember that there's also an integrated stem, so it really isn't very heavy at all!
the point of that product is not to be aerodynamiccollinsc

but instead, ergonomic. the flat aero-looking section is just wider to be more comfortable for your hands. it is a bar/stem combo to hopefully reduce weight and stiffness over a conventional setup.

if they weigh about 320 grams, remember that your bars probably weigh 250 and you stem another 150.
What company makes that bar stem combo?Tony2010
