10 speed lock rings, which is which?gibbons

I am running a Campy 10s 11/23 on my Rolf Sestriere wheels. Since I am not as tough as some others (my kids call me a sissy), I just bought a 13-29.

Will the little lock ring on my 11/23 work on the 13/29? I ordered an alloy lock ring that is supposed to be a sure shot with the 13/29. What do we think about softer alloy rings in a critical application like this? I am thinking that if the steel on works, a couple of grams might be worth the extra strength.

According to the link above the lock rings are not interchangeable.

Attached link is Campy 'Spare parts' catalog. Open second one down, then see page 55 of PDF file. Lists all lockrings 27x1 and 26x1 and which hubs they fit. How old your hub is would determine which size you need.

Concerning steel ot Ti. Approx $10 difference in price. If it makes you feel good, go for it, but probably not that big a difference. Personally, I use steel.
