Wheelsmith spokeprep on bolt threads?spookyload

I bought some of this to build a set of wheels and didn't use anywhere near all of it. It was sort of expensive so I want to use it for something, and was considering using it on smaller bolts without much tension like the clamp bolts on my USE alien seatpost, or maybe stem binder bolts.

I once asked my LBS mechanic for a little loctite so I can fix my ever-loosening bolts on my cleats. He instead applied some spokeprep on them and the problem went away. I recall him telling me that they are basically the same thing.

Try a simple test. Take a threaded bolt and nut, whatever you have laying around. Paint on some prep and allow to dry. Thread it to the bolt and let sit, then unthread it. Notice any difference?
