I just got my new Ksyrium SSC's and noticed there are no exposed spoke ends on the inner aspect of the rim...do I still need rim tape? My inner self said, "yes" so I went ahead and dutifully applied the velox, believing like chicken soup, it couldn't hoit. But I gotta ask you wrench heads, is it really necessary?

That is one way they save another few grams over standard wheels. You inner self is showing acute signs of RBR conditioning.

I put a 3" piece of velox where the valve hole is cut into the rim. I was getting flats from the tube pressure pushing on the edge of the hole. A little piece of velox did the trick.

Same thing happend to me on one of my new ksyrium rims. velox by the valve hole is a good solution, but I just sanded the hole with coarse steel wool with good results. Whats better???? I dunno and I doubt it matters. :)
