|is weight. This is coming from a tubular owner. My race wheels are 404 ZIPP's and because they are just for racing I decided to put up with the hassle of Tubulars and they are a BIG hassle. The difference between the tubular version of these wheels with TUFO S3 lites and the clincher version with a Light clincher and tube was over a pound, worth it in my book. Ride quality used to be an issue but not so much anymore. The weight issue also only really comes into play if your looking at deep dish carbon tubular rims.|

Firstly, tubular tires weigh less than clinchers.
Secondly, tubular rims weigh less than clincher rims.
Third: tubulars have a greater useable pressure range-I can run from 60 psig to 175 psig on good tubulars.
Fourth: Tubulars are quicker to change on the road. The disadvantages of actually fixing them can be saved for another time.
Fifth: Tubulars ride better than clinchers.
Six: Tubulars deflate more slowly than clinchers, and remain attached even when flat.
1: Any tubular worth using will cost a good bit (although when you consider the cost of a good tube, it ain't so bad)
2: Glue requires time to set
3: Spare tires weigh more than spare tubes
4: Some tubulars go on really tight
5: Nearly impossible to get a good seat on glue when wet (don't ride tubulars in very wet conditions!)
6: Takes about 1/2 hour to fix a sew-up (Tufos can not be opened, though)
7: If you don't glue tire on well, it could roll off rim
8: Glue can be messy for inexperienced rider
