|I am looking to put a Dura Ace triple crankset and bb with a Record front and rear derailleur and cassette on an otherwise campy bike (Chorus shifters and brakes). Has anyone tried this in real life and does it work well?
I am doing it since Campy does not make shorter than 170 mm crank arms, but Shimano DA is available in 165, 167.5 mm arms.

|No problem whatsoever so long as the Chorus ergolevers you are using are 9 speed, not 10 speed. I run a similiar setup, - Ultgera BB, D/A crank and Chorus 9 speed drivetrain because I like the stiffer Shimano splined BB/crankset interface versus the Campy square spindle setup. So long as the Campy shifters and rear derailleur you are using are 9 speed, not 10 speed it's no problem. I know several guys who run Shimano/Campy mixed setups similiar to this with no problems. The guys who I know who have tried mixing Shimano cranks and BB's with Campy 10 speed have not had great shifting results although in theory it should work so long as the Campy rear derailleur is compatible speed wise with the Campy ergolevers. Can't comment on how it would work on a triple setup?|

|If I'm not wrong, the C10 chain is a bit narrow, and will cause grief in the DA rings up front. I wouldn't want to see that happen, the chain jamming between the rings.
Ergolevers pose no problem, as they micro-adjust(8 clicks or so) anyways.

|On my trainer bike I'm using a 10 speed chain with a Dura Ace double front setup, no problem shifting. I did this just because I had the parts lying around, but it works fine. I wouldn't think the triple would be any different.
