I have 2001 Dura-Ace 7700 shifter\levers, stamped Flight Deck on top. My dealer sold me a wireless Flight Deck and assured me it was compatible. It is not. A friend says the 7700-c is the lever for wireless Flight Deck. Any comments on 7700 and Flight Deck compatability would be appreciated.
What makes you think it's not compatible? (nm)Spoke Wrench

If your shifter hoods have the little buttons on the insides and the levers say FD you should be OK. Maybe the dealer sold you the wrong harness? Shimano's web site has a FD compatibility matrix if my memory is right.

The FD compatibility matrix on Shimano's web site is pretty dated. There is a more current one under their FAQ on the same site. The ST-7700-C shifters are the only DA shifters that give you full capability, and use the SM-6501-RS (wireless) or SM-6500 harnesses with one button on each lever. The 7700's and 7400's are compatible in that there is a place to put the switches, but you won't get gear/cadence information, and they use only the SM-6500-R harness with two buttons on the right lever.

The SM-6501 appears to use switches that insert into a removable slot on either lever. Does the SM-6500-R have switches that fit into the small "L" shaped slot on the inside of the ST-7700 levers?

Pull back your lever hoods as far as you can. You will see two tiny little phillips screws (the back one is hard to get to). Remove them and the plastic trapazoid cover will come off. The interface for your Flite Deck computer replaces that plastic cover.

HELP:
I'm a fairly new user of the CS-6501 Flight Deck. It's great, however, I am constsantly entering the "set-up" mode by mistake. My current problem is with the "gear" indicator. I have a triple ring and it reads incorrectly on the large ring. I have checked the settings and all "seems" to be in order. Any thoughts and or suggestions?
