Dura-Ace brake question(3 posts)

Dura-Ace brake questioncurvilinear

I have a new Carbon fork with a wide crown for to fit an integrated headset. With the new Dura ace front brake I just purchased, the mounting post is too short. That is, it does't quite reach the recessed nut on the back of the fork. Even after removeing the lock washers, it just catches a couple of thread. I assume it is not safe.
Any suggestions.

You are using the front brake, right? The front and rear have different length main bolts.

Can you get a longer recessed nut? That should do it.

Doug is correct. The Dura Ace comes with too short of a recessed nut. Your fork should have come with a longer one but it sounds like it didn't. I beleive the correct length for a carbon for is 25mm. Any bike worth their saly should carry it.
