What is the pros and cons for having a 26 versus 31 clamp for the stem and handlebar?

Based on six weeks with a 31.8 Deda Magic stem and bar and years of 26 mm threaded, I would say that the Magic is stiffer and responds beautifully for steering. Downsides, you may find it hard to mount a computer from your old bike and some bars you may want to buy don't come that chubby. I am not a new bike equipment nerd, but I sense that the 31.8 mm size may become the new standard. The bulge is only in the middle so your hands will fit as well on the bars using either size.
