Ultegra triple front derail adjusteflayer2

I am a novice wrencher, but was successful in building my first bike yeseterday except for this front D. Spoke Wrench was right about using bb spacers. I ended up installing Ultegra BB instead of DA triple, so did not need the bb spacers. Now I am having difficulty getting front D to move chain onto large ring. It doesn't seem like there is nearly enough range in the possible movement of the D to get the chain over that far. Could I have secured the cable without the shifter being in the small ring position? Or is it possible that this triple can't work with my set up? Any tips appreciated.
What kind of shifters?Spoke Wrench

Ultegra and 105 use the same shifters for doubles and triples, but I'm not sure that's true with Dura Ace.

LBS sold me a clamp to adapt my braze-on to work on my non-braze on bike. This non-shimano adapter clamp interfered with the action of the deraileur. Found a shim for another clamp-on ultegra triple front deraileur I have so it would fit 28.6 steel seat tube and all is working yeaaaa! Thanks mr. spoke wrench.
