Difference between a standard and track headset?FSRslug

I was wondering what the difference is in the headsets. Is it just the stack height? If I put the track headset in a normal road bike would there be any problems?

I needed something with a super-low stack height to accomodate a fork that was slightly too short. It is functionally ok, but very delicate. Those dark parts, are actually clear plastic with a finish applied to the inside. If the plastic is flexed at all the finish will flake off, so you'll need to have it professionally installed (unless you have a headset press).

Overall, it just didn't strike me as being very sturdy. Unless you need the stack height, I'd go for full alloy Dura-Ace. If you want to save a few grams and are very fastidious about installation and maintenanace, it might be the way to go.
not only that...sprockets2

I got mine from Cambria and it came incomplete. This is typical of my experience from them. The previous headset I ordered from them was shipped with FRENCH threading. I don't mind the track unit, but it does have a small stack height. I would consider that as important as anything else.
