|Sidi Energy 2 versus Genius 4||GMS|

|Energy 2 is supposed to be Sidi's highest end shoe, but is there anything clearly better about them than the Genius 4s? The adjustable sole tension actually seems like a disadvantage. I haven't heard anything good about it.
But... the Energy 2s are actually cheaper, because they are seemingly always on sale, and Genius 4s are always full price.
Is there any clear advantage of one over the other, or at least any significant difference?

|the tension adjusters are a crock- I experiemented with different settings, but could never feel the difference- THEN- one of the tensioners fell out (only god knows where), so I took the other one out as well- shoe performance was not affected.
I hate velcro, so that alone sold me on the shoes, but I could live without the sole adjustments
The Energy's usually have terrible color schemes...
I actually really like the shoe- but I didn't pay that much for them.
I think they are coming out with a carbon-soled version with velcro lower straps- the gizmo using the twist tighteners is somewhat difficult to loosen (hey, it was a nice idea?)- but the ratcheting top strap is worth the price of admission
One might argue the Energy2s are a bit over-engineered... and with ALL of the user-replaceable parts, I always check to see that all the little screws are tight- don't want to lose any more parts (had lost a heel cap as well in the past).

|I have Energy 2s. They are incredibly comfortable, admirably stiff [even after the sole tensioners dropped out on a entury ride] and they look cool. If I had it to do over again, however, I'd get the Genius 4. Like I said, I don't use the sole tensioner, and the round buckles do have a tendency to fall apart. Yes, you can get erplacements, but this is expensive. Next time, I'll get a shoe that is as comfortable, but not so mechanically complex.|

|Energy 02' - MSRP $229.On its "loose" setting the sole is as stiff as the Genius. On its "stiff" setting it is 10% stiffer. This is an on or off system, there is no in between. It is tough to feel on the shoe, but if you find a dealer that has a sole display, you can feel the difference. The Techno buckles allow you to fine tune the fit slightly more than the Genius, that is why I choose this shoe.
Energy 03' - MSRP $319. Carbon sole, no sole adjuster. Will still have the Ultra buckle and two Techno buckles, it will not have any velcro straps.
