Look PP357 pedals and Sidi Genius 3 shoes squeakDaveL

I'm looking for some advice on how to deal with squeaking cleats. Since I bought Sidi Genius 3 shoes late last year I've been fighting with creaks and squeaks from the cleats. I've tried about everything, lubing between the shim between the shoe, the space between the shim and the cleat, the cleat itself, and most recently rubbing steel wool over the cleat. Nothing has worked for anything more than 8-10 miles. The pedals have about 10,000 miles on them and are showing some wear at the cleat contact point. Any suggestions? Thanks

...until about 2-3 months ago. I would clean the cleats and the pedal platform of the 357's and the squeaking would go away for a little while only to return. Based on Doug Sloan's experience, I decided to quit putting up with the squeaking and I ordered a pair of Look 206's that are made out of a composite material and are actually lighter and less expensive than several of Look's pedals. I have not heard a peep or squeak since I put them on my bike. I used to hate to have to get off my bike on a ride, because I knew once the pedals and cleats got a little grime on them that damn squeak was going to return. But, with the 206's, walking in the grass, then dirt, sand, or whatever does not result in squeaking. The 206's are on sale at performance right now for $79.99.
