|I'm liquidating my Dura-Ace bike and going with my new Record bike. But I'd like to keep the Ksyriums I have. I've read somewhere that the cassette interface for shimano and campy is different. If that's true, is there anyway I can use the campy cassette on the wheels I have? I haven't opened stuff up yet (not to mention I need to find the shimano cassette tool) so it'd be nice to know if I should even think of this. |

|Your Campy cassette cannot be used on the Shimano compatable Ksyriums. Check a few posts down for the same discussion.|

|Yes, it can work, but not with the campy cassette you have now. I just did it myself. I had Shimano compatible Ksyriums SSC SL 's on my C-dale. I bought a new frame and built it up with Campy Record 10 and I wanted to use my Ksyriums.
The solution: A company called "Wheels Manufacturing." Basically, they make a cassette that is a Shimano carrier with Campy cogs. I have been using mine for several thousand miles without a problem. Shifts just fine.
The are expensive though. Somewhere around $120 for their lightest model.
I do believe there ia a poster named "bill" on this site who was trying to see one a while back.

|I just setup a wheel with a Wheels Manufacturing 9 speed cassette, Campy shifter/Shimano hub configuration.
It does indeed work well, although I've also run a 9 spd. Ultegra cassette with 9 spd Centaur shifter and Centaur R derailer for 1200 miles or so with few complaints, but I'm not very fussy.
Branford Bikes - http://www.branfordbike.com/ sells this 9 spd. conversion for $109.
It may help to have multiple wheelsets. I setup the cassette on wheelset 1 (Open Pro CD - Ultegra Hub), with a troublesome loud clicking sound. Switching the cassette to Wheelset 2 (Open Pro silver - Ultegra hub) and the clicking went away. Probably related to dish/cog spacing.

|I chainged over to all Campy (9speed) myself and had a Velomax wheelset that I really liked and wanted to use. I ordered the Wheels mfg. cassette and measured it to find out what they did to it to make it work. I had a Dura-Ace cassette that I could use. I had to machine down the little lip on the back of the cassette so that I could add .010" spacers in between the cogs that weren't attached to a carrier. You only really need to have the added spacing in the center part of the cogset when the chain line is at it's most straight point. Cost me $25 with shipping for the spacers. I did buy a Dura-Ace chain to use with this set-up also. Shifts great|

|If you don't want to use an "adapter" cassette, Mavic makes interchangeable freehub bodies for the Ksyrium hubs (at least they were interchangeable in 2001). The cost was $60 at the LBS, plus whichever campy cassette(s) you decide to use.|| |
