Reynolds Ouzo Pro Fork Bung...DannyBoy

Just got a full carbon Ouzo Pro for my new bike, and a sexy blue Chris King headset.

I clearly can't use the King top cap, and am saddled with the Reynolds black bung - is there a way around this ie. so I can use the King Top Cap???

...for the same reason as you. They said no. Bummer. I think FSA makes them now; perhaps they have them in colors.

Wear your Ouzo stem cap with pride! I can assure you that once you get done putting it all together and ride your bike a bunch you won't even notice or care. My black Ouzo stem cap blends in perfectly with my black Ritchey WCS stem.

I was just asking the question for...er...a "friend" who HAD color issues.

Yeah...that's the ticket...a "friend."

Actually, CK agreed but said they didn't have immediate plans to make anything. He hinted that the BB project and the Perdido were taking up a lot of their time. Life is hard in Shasta City, you know.

PS--I'm also running a WCS stem. Lots of bang for the buck.

Plans always get a little more difficult around "harvest" season in NorCal ;-b Heck, people don't even show up for work for days at a time. Another issue could be that the Reynolds design might be protected under patent. Another approach might be to ask the folks at Reynolds about getting different colors or sending your "friend" a cap that hasn't been anodized yet, then your "friend" could send it to Chris King to get anodized the proper blue. If your "friend" tries to do it themselves it will be quite expensive and the color will never quite match. If it gets thrown in the batch with all of the othe King parts they may not even charge your "friend" ;-) Just a thought - you're "friend" will have to be nice and smooth on the phone to pull it off.

my "friend" dropped the silly ass idea.

I'll have to stop by the CK factory on my next climbing trip up there just to visit and share a cup of java (...just java) with those fine folks. I get a kick out of Shastafarians.
