After reading numerous posts about using Chorus/Ultegra hubs and open pro rims for a durable and easily trueable set of raceable training wheels, I'm curious what the approximate weight of one of these wheelsets would be. Sorry, too much time spent looking at websites that love to quote weights, like American Classic, when I should be working!! But having read all of the advertised weights, I'm curious what the weight difference actually is between the bread and butter stuff and the boutique wheels.

|Dt 14-15 triple cross, open pro, record hubs, tires on.
3 lbs 7oz rear minus 9oz for tire 4oz for tube, 6.5oz for the casette, 4oz for skewer = ~2 lbs for "wheel"
2lbs 9oz front minus 9 for tire 4 for hubs 4 for skewer = 1 8 for front so...
6lbs running weight.
about 3.5 pounds or ~1600 grams stripped.
not bad for ~450 dollars including shipping and cassette.
Chorus would weight about 75g more.
Excel cirrus, basically the same thing with ultegra, is listed 716g f 954g r. 295 for wheels.
the wheels are fairly bombproof. I have to retrue every few months. I weigh 230. Riding parnter has same with 28h 15/17, he is 165, never retrues.
Funny how people round weight to nearist 5lbs. Kinda like kids and "I'm 3 and a half!"
