squeaky seat post ...joe mudd

on an '02 aluminium frame and with an american classic aluminium seat post/slr saddle. tried greasing the post and the noise resided only to return after a few rides. could the post clamp be over tightened (etc)... any other sugestions?

Lowering my seat post a 1/2 cm stopped my squeak. It also convinced me that squeaks are caused by stress. Finding the cause of the stress is the difficulty.
By adjusting the force or angle of my peddle stoke by such a small amount and having such a big effect was amazing to me.
Your problem could be a combination of the tightness of your seat clamp and a misaligned seat. Check the seat for levelness and correct height. I brought my measuring tape
and my level at Home Depot. Best of luck!
