|I have a set of Rolf Vector Comps that came with my Trek. They have over 4000 miles on them and in the past month the rear wheel came out of true twice. The first time I only noticed it mid-ride (tightened the spoke enough to work) and made it home. The second time was this morning as I was about to head out the door. It seemed to be fine on Tuesday (my last ride). It's the same spoke as before (I marked it the last time). Long story, short, is this wheel on its way out? I'm taking it to the LBS later to have it trued again, but I'm wondering if I should look into new wheels now, and keep the Comps as backup.
What should I do (besides have the wheel looked at)?

|I would loosen the offending spoke completely and Spoke Prep the threads. After that dried, I would take my tensiometer to all 20 spokes and equalize and increase the tension if they need it. Then I'd retrue the wheel. I think $25.00 would be a fair price for me to do all of that.|

|Thanks Spoke. I'd love to bring the wheel to you, but then I'd have to explain to the family why I was gone so long (I'm in PA and I think you're in CO if I remember correctly?).
Anyway, I understand what you're saying should be done. I'll see what the LBS says/does later. Maybe I need to start looking into doing some of this myself.
