OK, a really lame 'component' question. Are bottle cages really a component?? Oh well.....that's not my question.

The cages on my frame are old and don't match. I'm tired of my buddies giving me s**t "Beautiful bike, but those cages are UGLY!" I saw these cages in a catalogue and I think they look really good. Questions: Some of these unusual cages don't take standard bottles, do these?? It looks as if the cages would make it hard to get the bottle in and out quickly??

Thanks. Paul

Paul,

I've been using the Tao's for about two weeks. Very easy bottle entry, just drop them in the cage and let go, they fall in and kind if lock in very securely, no dropped bottles. They release with just a pull. Look cool and are very light and the do use and accept standard waterbottles. The place to buy them is: www.wisecyclebuys.com same price as Excel, no shipping charge.

I put a set on my bike about 2 months ago. Generaly nice idea but I would say that the bottles are harder to get out and in that my previous Elite cages. Also, they don't really like Zefal (sp?) Magnum bottles - the bottle fits in but it does not go all the way to the back of the cage without a serious push.

Put some on about 4 weeks ago, work great with my polar bottles, a little harder to get the bottle out but I have been getting used to it. Anyways it beats dropping bottles which my old cages were doing. Nice and light and look pretty sharp.

I like mine. Had Elite stainless before these, was happy with those also, just wanted a different look.
