I am leaning toward Northwave, but I'd like anyone's thoughts on what's the lightest stiffest shoe what will fit my somewhat wide foot. Thanks again, gang.

Sidi's "mega" sizes create extra width by widening the entire shoe. That works for some Fred Flinstone feet, but what many folks need is simply a roomier toebox. I think Northwave does that better than anyone, but other options include Carnac (a very nice, and pricey, option but I don't think as roomy as the Northwave) and Pearl Izumi.

According to Sidi's website, their half sizes are the same as the previous whole size, except the toe box is larger.

Although price is a major factor, $160-260- you should strongly consider Time top end shoes if you want larger toe box but snuggness in rear of shoe- as that is my situation size 46 1/2 feet, The Equipe CX - both the dayglo yellow and new grey silver version are some of the lightest shoes on the market (Weight : 630 g per pair)
and are very stiff - I am about to purchase my 3rd pair of Time shoes- which can work well with all pedal systems via changing faceplates on shoe.

Many riders who use them swear by them -

good luck,

Nik
