| Campy Ergopower Casing Retainers on a Lemond Zurich? | Spunout Aug 21, 2002 7:28 AM | | My soon-to-be-installed Ergopower controls require the casing retainers to be mounted on the downtube, with the adjuster. My 2001 Lemond Zurich has braze-on retainers on the head-tube for the common Japagnolo items used on this frame.
What to do? Options do NOT include filing off the head-tube casing stops. Should I get the Campy down-tube clamp for the retainers? Use the Shimano-style retainers with D/A barrel adjusters?
It should be an easy fix, just would like advice on the parts and best solution for this.
Thanks! |
| No problem... | Andy M-S Aug 21, 2002 10:01 AM | | Just use the HT stops instead of putting on the Campy DT adjusters. The cabling might not be quite as neat, but it shouldn't present any real problem. |
| No problem... but with whose adjusters? | Spunout Aug 21, 2002 10:08 AM | | Thanks Andy, but with any adjusters, or none?
Hard to reach that rear derailleur on a descent to give it a couple of turns;-) |
| don't need no steenkin barrel adjusters... | lonefrontranger Aug 21, 2002 11:46 AM | | I've got my Ergo set up w/o barrel adjusters on the head tube stops of my Dream. I haven't had problems with the C-10 stuff going out of trim. |
